Our Clubs will change throughout the school year as we add to the assortment.  Please check back often.  

Art Club - Katy Velickoff, Paige Swartz, Haley Kennedy

The UHS Art Club is dedicated to fostering creativity, self-expression, and collaboration among high school students. We aim to provide a supportive and inclusive environment where students can explore various artistic mediums, develop their skills, and engage in meaningful artistic projects. Through workshops, exhibitions, and community outreach, we seek to inspire a passion for the arts, encourage personal growth, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for creativity in all its forms. Our purpose is to empower students to express their unique voices while contributing to the cultural vitality of our school and community.

Book Guild- Mr. Summers

To read for the pleasure of reading, and find some common joy in writing. All books are student chosen, and reading pace is student chosen.

Book of the Month Club- Mr. Kyer

Promote and expand the literary experience among high school students as they prepare for their academic careers, encouraging expansive reading and discussion of important books and their themes, ideas, and use of language. Broaden intellectual horizons through reading a variety of books that are often required college reading; meet more friends who read; encourage reading in a time when people don't read as much; develop familiarity with different types genres; discover new authors.

Bring Change To Mind - Mrs. Stiles

Bring Change to Mind is a national non-profit organization with the mission of ending the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health. BC2M is focused on changing what people think about mental illness and advocating for mental health because it matters.

Environmental Sustainability Club- Mr. Robinson

Mission: Encourage the reduction of UHS' carbon footprint through the collection of recyclables at UHS, and the planning and execution of local community service projects.

Fellowship of Christian Teens- Mr. Kyer

The mission of FCT is to deepen and broaden our faith through Bible study, prayer, reflection, service activities, and fellowship.

Future Farmers of America- Whitney Porter Lenhart

The FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Future Leaders Program- Mr. Gray

The mission of the Future Leaders Program is to provide West Virginia schools and students with a quality education program instilling leadership, promoting citizenship, and teaching life skills while connecting students to their community using service and mentorship opportunities.  The goal of the club aspect is to bring awareness to the program.  

Girls With Glory - Mrs. Phillips

Girls with Glory is a faith-based fitness club that empowers girls nationwide. Our mission at UHS is to help girls be the healthiest versions of themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Building upon our four pillars – faith, fitness, fellowship, and philanthropy, we provide opportunities like no other organization to help girls connect with like-minded friends that will last a lifetime.

Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) - Kristen McKain

The mission of HOSA is to empower students to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience.

HSTA- Mrs. Simmons

HSTA is a club partnered with the state's land grant institutions to encourage aspirations, open doors, and empower minority and underrepresented students and rural communities. The goal of HSTA is to help increase the number of African American and underrepresented students in WV (and our school in particular) pursue degrees in college in health science and STEM fields.

Mu Alpha Theta- Mrs. Thorn 

Recognizes students with outstanding academic achievement in Math Education Courses.  

National Honor Society-Mrs. Farley

Recognize students with superb academic achievement, character, leadership, and service.

Pride-Mrs. Beatty

All LGBTQ+ people live safely and openly as our whole selves in the communities we call home. Goals this year include: 1. Volunteer at a food shelter. 2. Organize the school closet. 3. Participate in round table where we discuss issues faced within the LGBTQ+ groups.

Raze- Mrs. Ernstes

The RAZE mission is to educate students on the dangers of tobacco. Students participate in commotions and make presentations in health classes at UHS and 4th grade classes in Monongalia County. 

Rho Kappa- History Honor Society- Ms. Stepanek & Mrs. Dunn

Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of Social Studies. Rho Kappa provides national recognition and opportunities for exploration in the social studies and encourage an interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the social studies.

Spanish Club- Sponsor TBA

Spanish Club proposes to promote awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the people and diverse cultural productions of the Spanish-speaking world.

Student Council- Mrs. Simmons & Ms. Holt

UHS Student Council is the voice of the student body to organize and plan events for the school to promote school pride and being an active role in the school community. 

TSA, Technology Student Association/VEX- Mrs. Oiler

The Technology Student Association (TSA) enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intra-curricular activities, competitions, and related programs.
