Service Dog Etiquette


 

FAQ due to Work Stoppage as posted on the Mon County Webpage.

 

 

Chromebooks were collected on Tuesday, May 22nd and will be turned off by Thursday, May 24th. Students turning in late Chromebooks need to have their name, Home Room teacher and grade listed on the Chromebook or parts so it can be associated with the shelved Home Room group. Students should have their power cord in the pocket of the bag. Students will get their Chromebooks back in the fall the way it was turned in, unless there is something that needs to be fixed. Homeroom teachers will have more information about this on the day of collection. To purchase a new bag or power cord, pay $25 to the main office with your name and what you need.

Senior Chromebooks
 have been turned off. If you have not turned in your Chromebook, Mrs. Allen will be in the UHS building every day this week.Her office is 228b by the Innovations lab. Thank you for your co-operation. Charges for Chromebooks were submitted on Thursday, May 10th. Please make sure you have a charged Chromebook, bag and charger that was issued to you this year. 

 
Mrs. Eades will be offering a summer session of Princeton Review's ACT Prep Course. It will take place over the course of five days: June 9th, 10th, 11th and June 20th, 21st. Classes meet from 8am to noon each day and will include practice tests. This session will prepare you for the July 14th test date. Please see Mrs. Eades in room 139 to register for this course as soon as possible as spaces are limited and will be given based on a first come, first served basis. Registration closes on May 30th.

 

Students interested in taking an SAT prep class this summer should contact Mrs. Beatty in room 161, Mrs. Thomas in room 232, or Mr. Gunnells in room 224 for dates, times, and an application. Space is limited, so if you are interested contact any of these three teachers.  There is no cost to any student taking the class.

plastic bottle caps and consider donating them to our Civil War classes as we try to quantify the number of casualties produced from the American Civil War. How many do we need you ask?

Madame Stiles is pleased to announce that she will lead a group of University High School students on a trip to Paris and the Loire Valley.  Students will be experiencing French culture and history first-hand. It is NOT necessary to be a student of French to go, although it certainly helps! There will be a trip information meeting to discuss this exceptional opportunity on Thursday, October 5, at 6 p.m. in the library. See Madame Stiles in Room 111 for information about the trip.

The following students have successfully auditioned for and will perform with the 2018 WV All-State Orchestra:  Lucy Meyers, Rhys Campbell, Clara Lehki, Levi Watson, and Preston Whiteman.  They will perform with this Orchestra at the Municipal Auditorium in Charleston on Saturday, March 10, 2018. 

 

The following students have been selected to rehearse and perform with the 2018 WVU High School Honors Orchestra: Aaliyah Arbogast, Hailey Busch, Rhys Campbell, Madeline Wright, Natalie London, Rachel Sampson, Clara Lehki, Nicholas Whiteman, Levi Watson, and  Preston Whiteman.  They will perform on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Concert Theatre of the Creative Arts Center.  If you see any of these students give 'em a high-five.

 

Well it’s finally here!!!  The 4th Annual Power Hour Talent Show.  This show will feature the adults in the building.  Teachers, administrators, and counselors will vie for the coveted

Chic-Fil-A Gift Card, and the student body will be the judges this show.  You don’t want to miss anything.  The show will begin promptly at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday!

Civil War reenactors from the region will be here to share their expertise on multiple topics with students through station work. All 10th graders will visit the encampment from 7:40 to 9:15 Friday morning. All other UHS classes are invited to attend the encampment, with teacher permission, from 12:30 to 2:30.  Saturday, the event is open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
